Our Greener Practices
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Our efforts helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions at Bangalore International Airport by 95.6% in Scope 1 and 2, achieving this milestone seven years ahead of the 2030 target. This accomplishment established the airport as the first in Asia to receive ACI's Level 5 accreditation for sustainability.
Using renewable energy
Bangalore International Airport now operates entirely on renewable electricity, supported by solar panels installed on the roof and ground, and reflects our commitment to designing sustainability strategies to position our airports as a leaders in responsible energy use.
Reducing water usage
During the construction of Hamad International Airport in 2014/2015, our sustainable design included energy-efficient elements; solar reflective coatings on terminal walls; carbon dioxide sensors to optimise air intake; and landscaping with desert-adapted plants using irrigated using recycled wastewater.
